Tips on Choosing a Janitorial Cleaning Company in Austin

There are plenty of commercial janitorial cleaning companies in Austin. When looking for one, keep in mind these 3 basic factors: Years in Business, Level of Customer Service, Is it a Cleaning Franchise or Locally Owned. Here are some tips on choosing a Janitorial Cleaning Company in Austin.

When was the cleaning company founded?

This is a great question to ask prior to even meeting the sales person to conduct a walk-through.  Filter the cleaning companies that have less than 3 years of experience.  Cleaning companies with less than 3 years of experience may be experiencing growing pains which translates to the customers getting less quality control on the services being provided. Growing pans can also mean financial instability. If a cleaning company is not financially stable, it may run payroll out of cycle and pay them late.  Paying housekeepers late means unhappy employees.

Great Customer Service is a must!

Make sure that the commercial cleaning company you hire has great customer service and provides you with an account manager. The account manager must be available 24/7 for any emergency calls or complaints. The account manager must have email access on the phone and must be able to return your phone call within 1-2 hours.  The ideal account manager provided to oversee your cleaning services and the cleaning crew should stop by the facility 2-3 times a week to meet with you and do a walk-through to go over any cleaning requests or areas that need improvement.

Is the cleaning company you are hiring as franchise or is it locally owned?

Even though there are good cleaning companies operated through the franchise system, we suggest hiring a local janitorial company. One of the biggest advantages of hiring a local cleaning company vs a franchise is that you get a bigger bang for your buck! Local cleaning companies have less operating expenses (less sales staff, less administrative staff and no franchise fees).  When you pay a local cleaning company, 70%-85% of your money pays for labor, insurance, and operating costs.  Consider same scenario but you decide to hire a franchise.  The franchise takes a approx.. 20% cut.  After the 20% cuts is taken out, this leaves the franchisee owner with less money in the operating budget which results in having to reduce the labor hours provided in your facility.
